Short Description
On behalf of our client, an international aid organization headquartered in Germany and dedicated to supporting communities affected by crises, Manpower BiH is seeking a qualified candidate for the position of: Finance Officer.
Description
- Accounting & Bookkeeping: You actively participate in the proper execution of monthly accounting activities. This includes recording income and expenses, reviewing supporting documents and invoices, and monitoring accounts. You will participate at times in the bookkeeping activities per the need.
- Projects’ Finance Controls: You will take part also lead the project finance controls related tasks, band help to make sure that the finance department is supporting the organization with a continues and elaborate view of the budget status of projects and the annual financial plan of the organization. You will participate and lead related financial reports to the programmatic department, the CEO, and others.
- Support the Development of Financial Strategy: You contribute to the development and implementation of a long-term financial strategy for the organization. You will work with the Finance Manager to set financial goals, analyze financial risks, and identify opportunities to optimize financial resources, for example through implementing new tools to use.
- Financial Planning, Monitoring & Reporting: You will take part in the entire budget cycle of planning, ongoing monitoring and reporting.
- Compliance, Risk Management & Privat Donations control: You will ensure the organization complies with all relevant financial regulations and laws, including the regulations of the different funds we work with. You will develop and implement internal controls to minimize financial risks and prevent the misuse of funds. You will help to monitor all donations received, and help to control their use.
- Financial Processes & Cross-Departmental Collaboration: You take responsibility for cross-departmental cooperation in the financial sector. This involves initiating and moderating coordination processes with other departments to jointly develop practical guidelines, standards, and process definitions. The goal is to further professionalize financial work and promote transparency, clarity, and uniform procedures.
- Operational Tasks: You will at times support or execute the different ongoing operational tasks such as bank transfers, refunds to employees, etc.
Requirements
- Education: Completed degree in Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Professional Experience: As a Finance Officer or in a comparable commercial position in a Non-Profit Organization, ideally in the humanitarian sector.
- Knowledge: Sound knowledge of financial planning, budgeting, and financial reporting.
- Language Skills: Full professional proficiency in English and German, German strong advantage.
- Regulatory Framework: Familiarity with legal and regulatory requirements for NGOs and aid organizations.
- Skills: Strong analytical skills as well as excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Work Style: Team-oriented and interdisciplinary.
