On behalf of our client, RCB Nanotehnologija, the only circular company in Bosnia and Herzegovina using patented, environmentally friendly technology—developed with the Fraunhofer Institute in Germany—for the production of recovered carbon black (rCB)Manpower Bosnia and Herzegovina is seeking an experienced Chemical Engineer.The candidate should have a strong background in chemical, carbon, or heavy industries.
Description
Chemical Engineer is responsible for analysing, implementing, and optimizing processes, equipment, and plant operations. The role includes managing technologies and projects, developing quality control plans and procedures in line with standards, and selecting and procuring equipment. The position involves close collaboration with suppliers and cross-functional teams, as well as oversight of process water systems, including treatment and integration into production, to ensure efficiency, compliance, and overall plant performance
- Actively participates as a member of the engineering team in the implementation and development of technologies and projects, with a particular focus on chemical and water engineering systems.
- Plans, schedules, coordinates, and executes assigned technical and commercial activities within designated projects, sub-projects, and processes, including those related to process water management and treatment.
- Ensures all engineering work is compliant with applicable codes, industry standards, and internal procedures; facilitates effective communication and coordination across all disciplines and stakeholders involved in the project or process.
- Manages the procurement and technical evaluation of equipment, including engagement and negotiation with suppliers.
- Represents the engineering team in meetings with clients, contractors, and suppliers; contributes to resolving technical and operational project issues.
- Assists in the preparation and technical input for project proposals and feasibility studies.
- Develops and maintains quality control plans, procedures, and work instructions in accordance with relevant national and international standards.
- Supports preventive and corrective actions, as well as root cause analysis for production issues and process non-conformities.
- Contributes to the continuous improvement of production processes, focusing on increased efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and sustainability—including water reuse and optimization strategies.
- Engages in research and development activities, including laboratory analyses and the validation and implementation of new testing methods.
- Conducts quality control through data collection, processing, and reporting related to solid and liquid products, additives, fresh and process water, and newly developed materials.
- Ensures full traceability of materials and processes in line with control plans and applicable company, national, and international standards.
- Develops verification plans and carries out internal calibration of measuring instruments used in laboratory and production environments.
- Initiates and supports laboratory development projects, including the selection and procurement of analytical instruments, laboratory equipment, and consumables.
- Performs additional tasks and responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor, aligned with the company’s operational and strategic objectives.
Requirements
- Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering
- Relevant work experience in the process industry (e.g. chemical, carbon, or minerals)
- Proficiency in English, both written and spoken
- Systematic and analytical approach to work, with a high level of self-motivation and the ability to function effectively as part of a team
